Hi friends! I am dying to get my hands on an egg chair, I feel like they have been everywhere lately! I have the most perfect corner in my bedroom, but I am having trouble pulling the trigger on spending $300+ on a chair mostly for decoration…so I decided to take a deep dive to see if I could find anything cheaper! Unfortunately in terms of “egg chairs” they are all around the same $300 price tag. Even though I could not find many specific egg chairs under $300, I did find many alternatives that have the same style and aesthetic for a fraction of the price! I will definitely be purchasing #6 to put in my bedroom corner, I think it will give off the same overall vibe, I am so excited!
4) Walmart $297 – Currently out of stock, but sign up for updates!
5) Serena & Lily $198 – Not necessarily an egg chair, but same exact design details, materials, and coloring!
6) World Market $230 – This is my TOP pick! I am so happy I came across this find! This is the best egg chair dupe I could find under $300, and I think this is the one I am going to order for my bedroom! It is less bulkier and has all of the same design details as the traditional egg chair!
Hello friends! I am back today with another home makeover post! One of my favorite parts of owning my first home is designing every room from the ground up. I’ve completed the design for almost every room inside our home, and I thought it was about time to begin on the design plans for our patio! Now we do not have the largest patio space, but it is such a cute and cozy area to relax in. I imagine drinking coffee in the mornings, and lounging under the stars in the evenings and I am just too excited!
With every room design I’ve done for our house, I always create a design plan. My design plans include colors for the space, patterns, and the pieces of furniture or decor I want to incorporate. I partnered up with Wayfair to create the design plans for my backyard bungalow, and I am seriously obsessed! As you all know, I am in love with the Moroccan tile design and all things neutral and grey. The decor in our home is greatly influenced by these design aspects, and I wanted our outdoor space to follow! I decided to stay with the main design element of grey Moroccan pattern, but also incorporate navy blue for a flare of color. I love how everything is coming together, and I already have some of these pieces on the way! I think it is important to keep a consistent decor theme throughout your home including the outdoor space! If you are planning to redesign a new room or outdoor space in your home, I highly encourage you to start with a design plan! This will help you ensure all of your pieces coordinate and fit into the aesthetic you are envisioning! Below are links to all of my top picks for my backyard design, happy patio season!
Hello friends! I am coming to you today with the EASIEST DIY tutorial! I love the look of farmhouse garage doors, I think they make a huge difference in the curb appeal of a home. While new garage doors are definitely not on the top of our home renovation list, I found the easiest way to mimic the look with magnetic hardware! I wasn’t quite sure how easy or nice this project would turn out, but I am SO happy with the outcome! Everything you need can be found on Amazon prime, and it took me 15 minutes to do!
Step 1: Clean Garage Doors First thing first, clean! This is not necessary, but I wanted to make sure we were putting the magnets on a clean surface, so I simply took a sponge with some household cleaner and wiped down the areas I would be working on.
Step 2: Add Windows Time to add our “windows”! Using painter’s tape, measure out a + on each of your garage door squares. Ensure that the horizontal line on each square is at the same height so all of your windows line up! You can use a measuring tape to assist with this, but I found that eyeballing it worked perfectly fine! Once your tape + is up, stick on the magnetic square to each quadrant. Peel away the tape and you have your windows! I am really impressed with the quality of these magnetics, the suction is extremely strong! Repeat this step for all “windows”.
Step 3: Add Hardware Once the windows are up, it is time to add the hardware! Again these magnets are extremely strong, so they basically flew out of my hand and attached to the door! You can place the hardware anywhere you like, but I chose to place one of mine below the first row of the door and one above the last row of the door. I popped the handles in the middle and that is it! A completely new set of doors in under 15 minutes!

Hi friends! I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. Today I am sharing my favorite Amazon home finds! Given the current global situation, my routine trips to HomeGoods and Hobby Lobby have been cut short, but luckily Amazon is still in full swing, so I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pieces I’ve found for our home!
1) Mercury Glass Curtain Rods – we currently have these on all of our living room windows and they are BEAUTIFUL!
2) Cathedral Mirrors – I have two of these on either side of a canvas in our dining room and I am in love. They are such a steal for the price and the detailing is gorgeous!
3) Blue and White Terracotta Vases – I wanted to bring some Mediterranean flair into our decor, and these three vases do just that! I currently have them displayed on our dining room table.
4) Tin Bread Box – Not much to explain here, I have this our on our kitchen counter and it is a cute way to hide away all of our bread!
5) Treat Jar – Such a cute jar to keep all of Luana’s treats in!
7) Mercury Glass Vases – I think these are my favorite find! I have them mixed with the terracotta vases on the dining room table, and they reflect the light in the most beautiful way!
9) Wooden Ladder – A ladder is a perfect way to fill a corner in a room! Simply drape a few pretty throw blankets over and it is an instant makeover!
10) Boxwood Wreath – We have one of these on our door to the basement and it adds a little touch of color and life!
11) Grey Plaid Runner – I currently have this on our dining room table, and I love how it ties in the grey colors of our home, and also makes the display look a little more casual!

Hi guys! I am jumping on for a quick blog post to share with you all one of the gifts I gave my bridesmaids on our wedding! I wanted to give my girls something useful that wouldn’t just be a “bridemaid” gift. I remembered back to a wedding I recently was in where the bridesmaids and I were trying to coordinate which clutches to bring on the wedding day, and it clicked. I would give my bridesmaid all a little clutches that matched their bridesmaid dresses!
I decided to fill their clutches with essentials for the day like mints, gum, tissues, hair ties, advil, nail files, and anything else I thought they would need! Let me tell you that my friends absolutely loved them, and still use their bags to this day! I wanted to share this idea with you all because I found it was a perfect gift for my bridesmaids that they seriously continue to use to this day!
Below I linked some of my current favorites from the brand I got my gifts from (Urban Expressions from Nordstrom Rack). They are all under $25 too!
It is beginning to look a lot like bridal shower season! I am forever wishing I could be a bride again for the sole excuse to buy allll of the white lace dresses! If you know me, you know I could live in a white lace dress every single day of the week. No ruffle or frill is too much for me, and while I already have far too many white dresses in my wardrobe, I am always looking to add to my collection!
I thought it would be fun to do a run down of dresses I would currently be buying for a bachelorette or shower if I were a bride again! I am SO excited to be partnering up with Red Dress for this round up! If you have not shopped there before, you can get 10% off by signing up for their emails! I hope you all love these dresses as much as I love them! Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite!
Today I am running through a complete breakdown of all the makeup products I used on my wedding day! I did my own makeup the day of my wedding, and all of the products I used are my absolute favorites! I hand-picked all of these products specifically for my wedding day to achieve a rosy “glowing from within” look, and I was so pleased with the outcome! If you are getting married, I highly recommend all of the products I used, and if you are a makeup artist I think these would be great additions to your kit!
As always if you all have any questions regarding the products I used or my makeup application, feel free to leave them in the comments below! I posted an in depth tutorial video on my IGTV here walking through why I choose the products I did, why I love them so much, and the application of everything! I hope it is helpful!
Hi friends! I am SO excited about today’s post! If you know me, you know I absolutely love fashion, and I guess you can say the creative side of me comes out when it comes to styling outfits!
A while back I was with shopping with my best friend and she was on the fence about buying a dress because she didn’t know how to style it. Without even thinking I started listing off about 5 different ways I would style the piece, and she laughed because it was such a typical “me” response. This moment got me thinking about how I would style my owngraphic tees that I sell in my Details and Swirls shop! Of course I have discovered numerous ways I style my tees, and realized it could be so helpful if I shared my styling tips with you all!
I know so many of you all have my long sleeve tees, so I came up with10 different ways to style my graphic long sleeve tees, I hope you love them!
1 – Classic
2 – Edgy
3 – Cute
4 – Athletic
5 – Statement Jeans
6 – Girly
7 – Vest
8 – Long Sweater
9 – Trendy
10 – Athleisure
I rounded up all of the pieces I used to style these looks below! Some of my pieces were super old, so I linked the best matches I could find!
Hellllo friends! I am super excited to share this week’s blog post with you all! My rustic farmhouse pitchers are some of my all time best sellers in my Details and Swirls shop! I live-letter these pitchers at all of my pop-up shops, and I know so many of you all have them! They are one of my favorite things to make, and I absolutely love how versatile they are. Whenever I post a picture of mine styled in a different way, you all ask so many questions on what I use to fill them, so I wanted to write all about how I style my pitcher for different seasons!
Classic Farmhouse – All Season
When my house is not decorated with seasonal decor, hues of grey, sage, and white fill my home! On a normal basis I have my pitcher filled with a mixed of eucalyptus and cotton stems! If you are looking for something a little smaller than the cotton, small white faux flowers work perfect to mix with the eucalyptus!
During Fall and Christmastime I love to fill my pitchers with seasonal picks instead of faux flowers! You can find beautiful seasonal picks at hobby lobby, michaels, and even amazon! I linked some of my favorites below, but you can either fill your pitcher with a mix of picks, or pop a few in with your eucalyptus!
During Springtime I love adding a pop of color to my pitcher! I added some faux tulips into my eucalyptus and it immediately added the perfect Spring touch to my decor!
Last, but certainly not least, I love to style my pitchers with a bouquet of real flowers! I will pick up a bouquets from Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods, and pop them in the center of my dining room table to create a beautiful display!
How do you all style your pitchers?! Send me your photos, I would love to see!!

Hi friends! As you all know, weddings are my passion. I run my own hand-lettering business, Details and Swirls, where I work directly in the wedding industry! My business stemmed from my passion of planning the details during our own wedding. Joey and I got married in September of 2018, and it was the most incredible day. You can read all about our wedding day here!
I am often asked specific questions about our wedding, so I opened up a Q&A on my instagram @detailsandswirls, to gather all of your questions! Some are specific to Newport weddings, while others are general, so I hope these help with whatever step you are at in your planning!
Q: Did you plan it or hire a planner to help? Or both?
A: We hired a planner! I really wanted to be involved in the planning, design, and every single detail of the wedding, so we did a month-of planning package with Ariana of AMC weddings! If you are nervous about hiring a planner because you do not want to lose creative control of your day, I can completely relate! I had this same fear, but let me tell you that is the complete opposite of Ari’s planning style. We worked together to bring my vision to life and she took care of all of the behind the scenes things that I didn’t need to deal with! And not to mention she was there the entire wedding day making sure everything ran smoothly. There are so many tiny tiny details, check-ins, and tasks that need to be taken care of before the wedding, and I definitely would have been very stressed before the day trying to get everything done if it wasn’t for her! If you are on the fence about a planner, HIRE ONE! It was the best decision we made!
Q: Did you pay for a MUA for your bridesmaids?
A: I did! At first I decided I was going to pay for either hair or makeup, but as planning went on, and I realized how much time and expenses my friends put in to make my time as a bride so special, I made the decision to cover both for them. I know everyone’s situation is so different, I do not think there is a standard answer for this!
Q: Did you have a theme in mind?
Yes, romantic! I wanted our day to encompass our love for each other in all of the details. I wanted it to feel personal, warm, romantic, and magical! Within this theme I found that vintage accents, neutral tones, and hints of blush and greenery best fit our vision!
Q: Where was your rehearsal dinner?
A: We had our rehearsal dinner at The Landing in Newport! They have a room upstairs with floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors! There is a small private deck area and all windows overlook the wharf. The view of the sunset is beautiful, and you can have all the doors and windows open for a true indoor-outdoor vibe! We found it was the perfect spot to host our family and friends before our wedding.
Q: Vendors?
I have a full list of vendors here! I have nothing but absolutely wonderful things to say about each and every one of our vendors!
Q: Suggested list of decor? We’re doing backyard & want to make sure we have enough!
A: I have a list of all wedding details in my Master Guide to Wedding Details! There is actually a specific section called “outdoor extras”! In terms of general outdoor decor though, you can never go wrong with too many candles, lanterns, and signs of course!
Q: I would love a breakdown of your wedding makeup!
A: I will be posting an in-depth walkthrough to my IGTV very soon, along with a blog post here outlining all of the products I used!
Q: Did your guests celebrate the weekend or just the day?
A mix of both! We got married on a Sunday, so we had our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks on Friday evening. I would say 30-50 of our guests were from out of town, so this was a nice time to connect with our friends and family who traveled in for us! On Saturday we had a “guys” and “girls” day. I went with my bridal party, mom, mother-in-law, and invited all other girls like aunts, and out of town family, to go get mani-pedis! We had a girls lunch, and then spent the afternoon opening up bridal party gifts. I did not want the gift opening to be rushed on wedding day, so I found this was perfect timing! The guys did a bar crawl around Newport, and the entire bridal party met up later Saturday evening for a big cookout!
Q: Where did you take your wedding photos?
A: We took our wedding photos at Castle Hill Inn (our venue)! If you are not familiar with Castle Hill, the grounds are stunning, and they have a mix of gardens (where we took our formals), as well as seaside cliffs (where we took our portraits). If you are looking for suggestions for places to take photos, Beavertail State Park is stunning and definitely gives off similar vibes to Castle Hill. Ochre Court is beautiful and elegant, very Newport! If you are looking for something a little more rustic, we actually took our engagement photos at a BEAUTIFUL spot in Narragansett! I am not sure if the field has a name, but it is off of Bridge Point Drive, I used to drive by it every day, and we knew we wanted to have our engagement pictures taken there! I will attach some photos so you all can see, it is a hidden gem!
All photos are Massart Photography
Thanks for all of your questions! I hope you all found this helpful! If you have any further questions, I will be answering them in the comments on this post!
